• Maryland recorded its 200th ACC victory at Miami and is 200-179 all-time.
• Maryland's record-setting crowd of 17,243 on Feb. 13 was not only an ACC record but also the third-largest this season and the only top 15 attendance figure not featuring Tennessee or Connecticut.
• The Terps' 18-6 record this season is its best through 23 games since 1992-93. The 18 victories is more than or ties the season win totals of the last 11 seasons.
• Three Terrapins have or are on their way to registering some of the best single-season marks in school history. Sophomore Shay Doron's 122 free throws made is the third-most in school history and her scoring output is among the top 15 single-season marks in school history. Senior Anesia Smith's 172 assists is fifth-most in school history and freshman Crystal Langhorne's 238 boards are the 10th-most all-time.
Crystal Langhorne was selected ACC Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season, tying the school record. She leads the ACC in rebounding and in double-doubles (11).
• Maryland's 74.9 points per game is the team's highest scoring average since 1992-93. The Terps rank ninth in the nation in scoring and are third in the ACC. • The Terps have had at least three double-digit scorers in all but five games and a 10+ rebounder 20 times.

Terps Looking for Sweep of Cavaliers
• No. 20/21 Maryland closes out the road portion of the regular season schedule, traveling to long-time rival Virginia on Sunday, Feb. 20. Tip off is scheduled for 4 p.m. The Terps are looking for their first sweep of the Cavaliers in 16 years. The game can be listened to on the Terrapin Sports Radio Network or on www.umterps.com.

Last Time Out
• The Maryland women's basketball program won its 200th game, defeating Miami, 70-65, in Coral Gables, Fla. Freshman Crystal Langhorne had a career night, scoring 29 points and grabbing 22 rebounds, nearly outrebouding a smaller Hurricane squad which had just 26 boards. She became just the eighth person in school history to grab 20 boards and the first since 1980.
• Sophomore Shay Doron posted her 11th 20+ point game, going 9-14 from the field with two three-pointers to add 20 points.
• After Miami cut a 67-60 Maryland lead with 1:11 to 67-65 advantage with 46 seconds remaining in the game, sophomore Kalika France went 3-for-4 from the charity stripe to seal the victory for the Terps. She finsihed with nine points. One of the top three scoring teams in the ACC, the Terrapins bounced back from a 34 percent shooting performance against Duke, shooting 50 percent from the field. But 28 turnovers kept the Hurricanes within reach throughout the game.

Terps in the Polls
• For the sixth-straight week, Maryland is ranked in the top 20 in the Associated Press and has been in the AP top 20 for 10 weeks overall. The Terps are No. 20 this week and remain at No. 21 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches for the third week in a row. Maryland has been ranked in both polls for 15-straight weeks.
• Five Maryland opponents are featured in this week's polls, including LSU who holds the No. 1 spot in both polls for the third-straight week. ACC foes Duke (#3/4), North Carolina (#8/5), NC State (#21/24) and Florida State (#RV/25) are featured in this week's top 25. Arizon and Virginia are receiving votes in both polls.
• After upsetting its first top-five opponent since 1992-93 when it defeated North Carolina, Maryland made the second-largest leap in the Associated Press poll the week of Jan. 10, jumping six spots from No. 21 to No. 15.
• The Terps have posted a 17-6 record this season with all six of their losses coming to teams who are ranked or were ranked at some point in the season.
• The No. 15 national ranking earlier this season was the highest for the Terps since earning a No. 11 final ranking at the end of the 1992-93 season.
• On Dec. 20, Maryland was ranked in the top 20 in both the AP and Coaches poll for the first time since the week of Dec. 27, 1993. That was also the last year the Terps were featured in the top 20 in either poll prior to this season.

About UVA
• Entering the game with a 17-8 record and 6-5 in the ACC, the Cavaliers are led by a couple of senior veterans in Brandi Teamer (12.6) and LaTonya Blue (11.9). Blue, however, has been the team's scoring leader in ACC games, averaging 14.2 ppg in 11 games. Earlier this season, Blue was named ACC Player of the Week.
• One of the better rebounding teams in the ACC, outrebounding its opponents by 5.3 margin which ranks fourth in the league, three different Cavaliers are averaging at least 5.8 rpg, led by senior Jocelyn Logan Friend's 6.6. The Cavaliers are eighth in the league in scoring, averaging 68.2 ppg, but allow just 60.0 ppg, which is fifth in the ACC.
• In her 28th season at the Virgina helm, Debbie Ryan boasts a 608-248 record. She became just the seventh coach in women's basketball history to record 600 wins at the same school.

Series vs. UVA
• Maryland trails in the all-time series, 39-23. It has been a challenge for the Terps to win in Charlottesville, Va., claiming only four road victories since 1977.
• Having won the first game of the regular-season series, the Terps will be looking for its first sweep of the Cavaliers since 1989.

RPI Rating
• Maryland's has achieved a No. 8 Ratings Percentage Index (RPI) in the latest listings in the WBCA/Summerville RPI, the highest among three publications. The Terps are among the top 10 in RPI two other sources. CollegeRPI.com and the Collegiate Basketball News have rated the Terps No. 9. Only Duke's RPI is higher than Maryland among the ACC squads.
• The WBCA and Collegiate Basketball News have also rated the Terps' schedule as the sixth strongest in the nation, while CollegeRPI.com has rated it seventh. Of the ACC teams, Maryland's schedule is the toughest according to the three publications.

20/20
• Freshman Crystal Langhorne continues to make a strong case for ACC Rookie of the Year honors. In the Terps' 70-65 win at Miami, she posted a career night, scoring 29 points and 22 rebounds. She became only the eighth player in school history to have a 20+ rebound game and the first since 1980. Langhorne, who was one off the single-game mark, is also the first Terrapin since 1980 to record a 20-point/20-rebound game.
• The 22 rebounds is the second-most this season by an individual in Division I and is also the most for an ACC player since Levys Torres from Florida State had 24 on Dec. 28, 2000.

Back-to-Back
• The win at Miami also guaranteed a non-losing conference record for the Terps, making it the first time they have posted back-to-back non-losing ACC record since 1992-93 and 1993-94.
• Last season, Maryland went 8-8 in conference play, its first non-losing ACC record since 2000-01. Prior to last season, the Terps has won just four conference games in 2001-02 and 2002-03.
• Posting its 18th win of the season vs. the Hurricanes, Maryland equals its win total from last season. The 1991-92 and 1992-93 seasons were the last time the Terrapins won at least 18 games in back-to-back years, notching 25 and 26, respectively.

Terps Win No. 200
• With its 70-65 win at Miami, Maryland recorded its 200th ACC all-time victory. The Terps, who are one of the original charter members of the ACC, are 200-179 since 1976-77.

It's All Academic
• Sophomore Shay Doron not only excels on the court but also in the classroom. Recently, she was named to ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA first team Academic All-District 2. She is now eligible for the national ballot.
• A Letters & Sciences major, Doron has compiled a 3.66 grade point average in her two years in College Park.

Young Studs II
• The No. 2 recruiting class in the nation has lived up to its billing this season and are among the top rookies in the ACC. Freshman Crystal Langhorne is the highest scoring and rebounding freshman in the league with 16.3 ppg and 9.9 rpg (which also leads the ACC). She is also sixth with 1.08 steals per game and is second with a .617 field goal percentage (which also ranks ninth in the nation).
• Ashliegh Newman's 6.6 ppg is ninth in the class and Jade Perry's 3.7 rpg are 10th among ACC freshmen.

Almost Triple Double... Again
• Twice this season, senior Anesia Smith has been flirting with history. Against Georgia Tech on Feb. 3, she was four points away from posting the first triple-double of record in the history of the Maryland women's basketball program. Smith had a career-high 10 rebounds and 11 assists to go along with eight points. Just one week later on Feb. 10 vs. Wake Forest, she tallied eight points, eight rebounds and 10 assists.

Smith Finalist for Liberman Award
• In her final season in a Maryland uniform and the most experienced member on the squad, Anesia Smith could arguably be the most improved player in the ACC. Earning the starting point guard duties on a full-time basis this season for the first time in her career, she is averaging 7.2 assists per game, more than three times her career average coming into the season (2.3). Her 172 helpers this year are among the top five single-season totals in school history. Recently, she was named one of 10 finalists for the Nancy Lieberman Award, given to the nation's top point guard.
• The ACC's assists leader and ranked third in the nation in that category, Smith also sports the best assist/turnover ration in the conference at 2.02.
• Smith has had five double-digit assist games in her career, all coming during this season. Prior to his year, her career high was nine assists, which she achieved just two times. Her 14 assist performance vs. Marshall not only set the Comcast Center record, but is also the sixth-most single-game total in the nation this season.

On the Offensive
• Maryland's scoring is up. Way up! The Terps are averaging 74.9 points per game this season, currently the highest scoring average since 1992-93. Not only is that third-best in the ACC, but it also ranks ninth in the nation (as of Feb. 14).
• Sophomore Shay Doron is one of the reasons the team scoring average is up 6.5 points per game from last season. Her 19.0 ppg would rank fourth in the Maryland single-season record books, while Crystal Langhorne's 16.3 ppg would be 12th all-time.
• Since head coach Brenda Frese has taken over the Maryland helm three years ago, fans have seen the Terps' scoring improve from 63.2 ppg in 2001-02. In her first season, Maryland averaged 67.4 ppg and last year, it was averaging 68.4 ppg.

Road Tested
• With its win at Miami, the Terps claimed its third road conference win of the season, the most since winning four in 2000-01.
• It's tough to win on the road in the ACC. In each of the last two seasons, Maryland had won three total road games, two of which came in ACC play. In 2001-02, Maryland was winless away from College Park. Looking to break that trend, the Terps have won six road contests, tied for the most since 2000-01.
• The last time the Terrapins posted a .500 record in league games on the road was 2000-01 and they have not had a winning record since 1991-92. The lower left corner of page eight features the year-by-year breakdown of the Terps record on the road since 1991-92.

Maryland Picked Third in ACC Preseason Poll
• After being picked to finish eighth in the previous two Preseason ACC Media Polls, the Terps jumped five spaces to third in the 2004-05 version, garnering two first-place votes. Last year, Maryland ended the season in a surprising third-place tie with NC State.
• North Carolina was predicted to end Duke's six-year stranglehold on the ACC regular-season title, while the Blue Devils were picked to place second in the league. League newcomers Virginia Tech and Miami round out the top five, respectively.

Langhorne Selected Preseason Rookie of the Year
• Newcomer Crystal Langhorne became the first-ever Terrapin to be named ACC Rookie of the Year when it was announced at ACC Media Day. Langhorne was rated the top post player in the nation last year according to the All-Star Girls Report and was a McDonald's, Parade, Street & Smith's and WBCA All-American.
• Since 1991 when the preseason picks began, the preseason honoree has been the actual honoree seven times.

Up Next
• Maryland closes out the ACC regular season hosting Virginia Tech on Thursday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. The Terps will be looking for the regular-season split after dropping the ACC opener in Blacksburg, Va., on Jan. 2.
