The Maryland gymnastics team travels to North Carolina Saturday to compete in the 10th annual Governor's Cup. The Terps join forces with the Towson Tigers to take on North Carolina and NC State. The quad meet will take place Saturday at the University of North Carolina at 2p.m.

EAGL Awards
Freshman Gretchen Kittelberger was named EAGL Rookie of the Week for her performance at last week's meet at Penn State. Kittelberger has been consistent on vault for the Terps this season, averaging a 7.0 or better in every meet.
Freshman Lindsey Bonomo was the first Terp to win Rookie of the Week for her efforts at the quad meet at Ohio State on Jan. 15. Bonomo scored a 9.80 on vault to lead the Terps on that event.
Redshirt sophomore Rachel Colon was named EAGL Specialist of the Week for her outstanding performance at the Maui Invitational on Jan.7. Colon scored a 9.875 on balance beam and a 9.8 on uneven bars to lead the Terps to the highest score on the season (193.975).
The Terps have faced Towson already this season, winning 193.525-191.425.
Looking at the Competition
North Carolina Tarheels
The Tarheels are 8-0 on the season. Junior Courtney Bumpers earned EAGL Gymnast of the Week (Feb.1) for her performance against West Virginia last weekend. Bumpers won the all-around (39.2) and led the squad on every event.
Senior Olivia Trusty holds the highest all-around score on the squad this season, with a 39.25 in the Tarheels win against William and Mary. Trusty ranks in the Top Ten in the EAGL on vault, balance beam, floor and all-around.
NC State Wolfpack
The Wolfpack are 5-1 on the season. Senior Cori Goldstein has been named EAGL Specialist of the Week twice this season. Goldstein's score on floor exercise (9.875) ranks third-best in the EAGL.
Towson Tigers
The Tigers (now in the ECAC conference) are 6-2 and are coming off a win over Cornell University, 190.950-182.625. Sophomore Christina Ghani was named ECAC Gymnast of the Week for winning the all-around (38.175), vault (9.725) and floor exercise (9.725).
Freshman Decelia Willacy was honored as the ECAC Rookie of the Week for her efforts against Cornell last week. Willacy finished second on the floor exercise (9.65) and third on uneven bars with a 9.625.
