
Langhorne Selected ACC Rookie of the Week for the Fourth Time

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland center/forward Crystal Langhorne was named the Atlantic Coast Conference's Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season, tying a school record. Helping the Terrapins to a 2-0 week, she averaged 15.0 points and 9.5 rebounds per game.
Langhorne (Willingboro, N.J./Willingboro) posted her league-leading 10th double-double of the season in Maryland's win at Clemson on Sunday. The conference's leading rebounder, she had 12 points and 13 rebounds. Earlier in the week, she was nearly perfect from the field in the Terps' 84-67 win over Georgia Tech. She went 8-for-9 from the field en route to 18 points in 28 minutes of action. She also registered career highs of three assists and three steals in the victory. On the season, Langhorne is averaging 16.1 ppg, 9.5 rpg and is shooting .611 from the field which is second in the ACC.
The four Rookie of the Week selections is tied for the most by any ACC rookie this season and also ties a Maryland school record. Bonnie Rimkus earned the weekly honor four times during the 1990-91 campaign.
The Terps, who moved up to 19th in the Associated Press' Top 25 this week, are 16-5 on the season. They host Wake Forest on Thursday, Feb. 10 at 7 p.m. Maryland will then host third-ranked and ACC-leader Duke on Sunday, Feb. 13 at 3 p.m.
