
Langhorne Unanimous Pick for ACC All-Freshman Team

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland's Crystal Langhorne was unanimously selected to the ACC All-Freshman Women's Basketball team which was announced on Wednesday. The honor is the second postseason award for the first-year player this week as she was named second team All-ACC yesterday. The all-freshman squad is voted on by the 74 members of the Atlantic Coast Sports Writers Association (ACSWA).
Langhorne (Willingboro, N.J./Willingboro) is one of two players to earn all 74 votes. She is accompanied on the All-Freshman squad by North Carolina's Erlana Larkins, also a unanimous selection, Duke's Wanisha Smith, Georgia Tech's Chioma Nnamaka and Kadijah Whittington from NC State.
Langhorne was a five-time ACC Rookie of the Week selection, earning the most weekly nods of any conference rookie, while also breaking the school record. She is the ACC's top scoring freshman with 16.8 points per game and leads the ACC with 10.3 rebounds per game. She is also second in the league with a .606 field goal percentage.
Langhorne started all 27 games for the Terps. On Monday, she broke the Maryland's single-game freshman class record for points, netting 33. She has posted 14 double-doubles on the season, the most in the ACC and among the top 10 in the nation.
The ACC will announce its three major awards later this week. The ACC Rookie of the Year will be released March 3, ACC Coach of the Year on March 4 and ACC Player of the Year on March 5.
The sixth-seeded Terps open ACC Tournament action on Friday, March 4 against 11th-seeded Clemson at 8 p.m. at the Greensboro Coliseum.
