POSITION VACANCY
POSITION TITLE: Help Desk Coordinator (Tier one)
DEPARTMENT: Intercollegiate Athletics
CATEGORY: Full-time, Exempt Contingent II
RESPONSIBILITIES: Responds to and diagnoses problems through discussions with users and technical peers in a Windows XP and 2000/2003 MS Office environment. Duties include being the first point of contact for persons contacting the help desk. The successful candidate will maintain call logs, escalate problems to appropriate solver groups and management, and will be responsible for assisting with reporting and process improvement initiatives. Specific responsibilities include: providing user support to troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network services problems/questions (i.e. disk drive maintenance, printer malfunctions, network problems); loading software updates; providing user training when necessary; serving as liaison for repairs and system board replacements as needed; and other duties as assigned by the Director of Information Technology.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in an information technology related field or equivalent experience, education, and/or training. 2 years experience in desktop support preferred. Prior experience with Windows XP/2000/NT, Office XP/2003, and virus protection software are necessary. Good oral and written communication and customer service skills. Special consideration given to candidates with Apple OS X experience.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience.
