COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Single-game tickets are no longer available for the University of Maryland's football season-opener against Navy (at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore), its matchup with border rival West Virginia, its Homecoming game against Virginia and its Thursday night ESPN contest versus Virginia Tech, athletics department officials announced today. The only tickets available for those four games are for purchase as part of a limited number of remaining season ticket packages.
"It really means a lot to our players to have that kind of support each time we take the field," said head coach Ralph Friedgen. "We're looking forward to sellout crowds for every game this year."
Maryland has sold more than 32,000 season tickets to date, which is a new school record. The Terps are 23-3 at home over the past four years, including undefeated homestands in 2001 and 2003.
A limited number of single-game tickets are still available for the Terps' two remaining home games against Clemson on Sept. 10 at noon and against ACC-newcomer Boston College on Nov. 19.
