Maryland men's basketball coach Gary Williams and Loyola men's basketball coach Jimmy Patsos will be teaming up once again in College Park, at the Second Annual Maryland Baseball Golf Classic on Sept. 9.
Participants will have the opportunity to play alongside the local coaches, who won the national title together at Maryland in 2002.
This year's event features a number of tournament contests, including closest-to-the-pin and longest drive, plus a chance to win a car with a hole in one! A pair of season tickets to both the 2005-06 Maryland men's and women's basketball home games will be raffled, with the drawings slated for Oct. 22. An auction featuring sports memorabilia and golf outings also will be held.
The entry fee of $200 per person or $750 per foursome includes an embroidered golf shirt, golf balls, tournament cap, barbecue chicken and rib buffet, and snacks and drinks on the course.
All proceeds benefit the University of Maryland baseball program.
