Jason Garey was named the tournament's Offensive MVP for his three goals in the two games and senior goalkeeper Craig Salvati was named the Defensive MVP after recording a career-high five saves against Santa Clara and earning the shutout against VCU. • Against Santa Clara, Maryland raced out to an early lead behind a Garey goal. Bertz added a header off a Dello-Russo free kick and Garey tacked on another in the first half to give the Terps a 3-0 lead. The Broncos scored early in the second half, but kept Santa Clara off the board -- behind the strong play of Salvati -- for the 3-1 win.
    • Against VCU, the Terps benefitted from an own goal on a Bertz throw-in that gave them a 1-0 halftime lead, and then received second half goals from freshman Robbie Rogers and Garey for the victory. Rogers saw his first action of the season over the weekend.
