Terps Head To Penn State For Non-Conference Match

Sept. 20, 2005

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - After sweeping its four-game homestand, the Maryland Terrapins return to the road for a non-conference match against Penn State.

The Terps (5-1-0) recorded a pair of 3-0 wins over the weekend over No. 12 Clemson and St. Bonaventure. Penn State (1-4-1) picked up its first win of the year on Sunday against Cal State fullerton, knocking off the Titans 2-0.

The Nittany Lions handed Maryland its worst loss last season, defeating the Terps 4-1 at Ludwig Field on Oct. 14. The game served as a turning point in Maryland's season as the Terps won eight straight after that game and advanced to the College Cup.

With his next goal, Jason Garey will be Maryland's all-time career leader in that category. He is currently tied with Cliff Krug (1958-60) with 45.
