Terp Student-Athletes to Coordinate Hurricane Relief Efforts

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Members of the University of Maryland Student-Athlete Advisory Council will be on hand on Saturday, Sept. 10 at the Maryland-Clemson football game and on Sept. 17 at the Maryland-West Virginia game to take donations from fans as part of the relief effort for Hurricane Katrina survivors.
Cash donations will be accepted from fans at all gates at Byrd Stadium for the games, which kick off at noon each Saturday.
Donations will be made to the American Red Cross to be used for those displaced by the hurricane.
The Student-Athlete Advisory Council (S.A.A.C.) is comprised of two student-athletes from each of Maryland's 27 varsity sports and serves as the leadership group that represents all 700 student-athletes.
