What a night! Tonight we came out and played the No. 1 team in the country at their place. No one expected us to win, even though we beat UNC last year. We came into their house and handled our business. We came out strong in the beginning, taking an early lead be we started turning the ball over and ended up down 10 at the half.
We knew we had to pick it up in the second half, but there was still a lot of time to go. As time counted down, we kept closing in on the lead. By the time there was 10 second left in the game, we were only down three. So coach called a timeout and they drew up a play. We came out of the huddle ready.
Shay shot a three and missed but one of the UNC's players tipped it back to Ashleigh. Ash has the ball not knowing what to do, she threw up a prayer five feet behind the line and it went in! We were going crazy, because we were going into overtime... and we all know what happens when we go to OT.

I haven't gone shopping in a while. I really wanted to on our last day off but my body was jus too tired.
I love to shop. It's my second love to basketball. None of my teammates like to go shopping with me because of how long I take in the stores (LOL). But I prefer to go shopping by myself, that's when you get your best shopping. When you shop with someone else, you have to go into the stores they like and I'm pretty selfish about shopping. On the other hand, when you go with someone who likes the same things you do, they might see something you like and get it for themselves. Of course, you don't want to get the same shirt your friend got, so you just have to forget about the shirt that you thought was so cute.
My favorite store is H&M. Oh how I love that store. Every time I go there, I find so many beautiful pieces of clothing and accessories. I have gotten a compliment from someone on every piece of clothing I have purchased from H&M. The clothes aren't crazy expensive like a lot of designer stores but their clothes are still very fashionable.
I even like watching style network. Watching people put together outfits for themselves has become another interest of mine. I like to watch makeover shows and "The Fashion Police" to see what's in style. Maybe if I don't end up playing basketball, something dealing with fashion will be in my future.

Saturday made me once again realize why I came to the University of Maryland. This past Saturday night, we had our team dinner. It was sort of a late Christmas party for the whole Maryland women's basketball family. The players were making the meal for about fifty people - seniors had the salad and breadsticks; juniors had appetizers; sophomores had the main dish; and the freshmen had the dessert. We also had a secret Santa for the players. Secret Santa is exactly what it sounds like, buying gifts for people and not knowing who has who.
The food turned out pretty well. The seniors had it made, really, only having to make salads and breadsticks. They were the last players to show up to make their food because it was so easy. No one really ate the juniors' appetizers. Shay had to make her avocado dip. She can't do any thing simple, because that's just not her (LOL).
The sophomores did it up of course, because, you know, we always do it big. We made tacos and fajitas. The only one to mess up was Jade. She put way too much water in the beef and ruined it (hahaha). The freshmen made some delicious brownies but screwed up the cake that they made. Overall, the food was decent.
Everybody was there that has anything to do with Maryland women's basketball; our athletic director Debbie Yow, our senior associate athletic director Larry Leckonby, team trainer Matt Charvat, our wonderful media relations rep. Natalie Ciccone, our academic advisor Laura Meckley, managers, even our practice players, and all of their loved ones. It was special to see so many people involved in women's basketball come together and have a great time. I realized that I have another family here at Maryland and that night was really special.
Our Secret Santa was great, too. I had Shay. I bought her this cute sweatshirt to go with her Ugg boots. I had to get her a shirt to wear with those shoes. Charmaine had me and she got me a gift that I could only love. She got me a gift certificate to my favorite store, H&M.
The night ended oh so right. We watched the first episode of our television show, Under the Shell, and left thinking about our next game against Duke.
