COLLEGE PARK, Md. -
* With the win, Maryland moves to (5-2 overall and 2-1) in the ACC. The Terrapins will play at home again next week, hosting Florida State. Maryland moved from sixth in the Atlantic Division temporarily into a tie for second pending the outcome of other games today. Clemson holds a half-game lead atop the division prior to its home game tonight vs. Georgia Tech. The Terps are tied at 2-1 with Wake Forest (idle) and Boston College (3:30 p.m. start at Florida State).
* Maryland head coach Ralph Friedgen is now 46-22 in the midst of his sixth season directing the Terrapin football program. He is tied with N.C. State coach Chuck Amato for fourth place among active ACC coaches with 46 wins.
* The last time Maryland and an opponent played a scoreless first quarter was 10/20/2005 when the Terps and Virginia Tech went scoreless in Blacksburg. The Hokies ended up with a 28-9 victory.
* The last time Maryland held an opponent scoreless in the first half was 11/27/2004 when the Terps posted a zero on the board defensively at Wake Forest. The Terps won that game 13-7.
* TB Keon Lattimore had 63 all-purpose yards in the opening quarter. He rushed 4 times for 25 yards and had two catches for 38 yards. His career-high 114-yard rushing total came in the final three quarters last week at Virginia. He finished the game with 107 all-purpose yards on 35 rushing and 72 receiving. Lattimore's previous single-game high for receiving yards was 37 yards last week at Virginia.
* Lattimore's 32-yard catch early in the second quarter was a career-long reception for him. In last week's fourth quarter at Virginia, he had a career-long rush of 56 yards. Later in the second quarter, he added a 34-yard catch on a screen pass.
* FB Tim Cesa had an 11-yard rush in the second quarter which was the first carry of his career. Cesa is in his second season as a Terp fullback after playing three seasons as a linebacker during his redshirt-freshman season in 2004.
* PK Dan Ennis set a career-high with four made field goals. He hit from 32 and 27 yards in the second quarter and hit a 40-yarder in the third period. Ennis connected from 18 yards out late in the fourth quarter. He is now 11-for-15 this season.
* With a second-quarter rush, TB Josh Allen moved past Billy Lovett (1966-68) into eighth on the Maryland career-rushing list. He now has 1,915 yards in his four seasons in College Park. He is 85 yards away from becoming the ninth player in Maryland history to rush for 2,000 yards.
* Maryland led at halftime for the 5th time this season. The Terps are 4-1 this year when leading at halftime.
* Josh Allen's 4-yard TD catch early in the third quarter was his 22nd of his career. He is now alone in 6th on the career touchdown list, moving out of a tie with Ed Modzelewski (1949-51).
* TB Lance Ball amassed 55 yards rushing in the third quarter alone.
* QB Sam Hollenbach's 28-yard gain in the fourth quarter was his longest of the season.
