
Ennis Earns Conference Accolades After Stellar Game

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Senior kicker Dan Ennis booted a career-high four field goals on Saturday as Maryland defeated NC State 26-20 in College Park. For his effort, the Sykesville, Md. native was named ACC Specialist of the Week today. Ennis hit from 32 and 27 yards in the first half to give the Terrapins a 6-0 halftime advantage.
Later, he would hit a 40-yarder in the third quarter and finally an 18-yarder with just under two minutes remaining in the game to give Maryland a 26-13 lead. Ennis has hit seven of his last eight attempts over the last three games and is now 11-for-15 on the season. In addition, he drilled both extra point tries through the uprights, marking 18 perfect attempts this season.
In the latest ACC rankings, Ennis stands atop the conference with 1.57 field goals per game, a figure that puts him seventh nationally. His 73.3 percent field goal percentage is tied for third in the ACC, while his 7.4 points per game average is second in the league in kick scoring.
