Heery Awarded Design Contract on Tyser Tower Expansion

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Maryland Board of Public Works on Wednesday approved the issuance of the contract to Heery International of Atlanta, Ga., to perform architectural and engineering design services on the Tyser Tower expansion project at Chevy Chase Field at Byrd Stadium.
The design phase is to begin immediately on the project, which will change the configuration of the south side of the facility. Highlights in the project include two five-story building additions to be constructed on the east and west ends of Tyser Tower; additional ADA-compliant seats on the main concourse level, updates to the current media facilities in the tower and additional mezzanine seating. The design work will take between 14 and 18 months to complete.
Heery International has performed a number of design projects for intercollegiate athletics facilities around the nation. The projects include those constructed at Texas A&M University, the University of Texas, the University of Florida, the University of Georgia and the University of Virginia, among others.
