Wrestling Gears Up For Body Bar Systems Invitational

    COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland wrestling team, 4-2 in dual action this season, will compete in the Body Bar Systems Invitational hosted by Cornell in Ithaca, N.Y. on Saturday, November 18. The tournament will take place in Newman Arena in Bartels Hall.

    Last season at the Body Bar Systems Invitational, the Terrapins finished in ninth place. Junior Andrew Schlaffer paced the Terps with a third place finish at 149 pounds. Sophomore Josh Haines was the only other Maryland wrestler to place as he finished sixth.

    Junior Charlie Pinto, Schlaffer, and redshirt freshman Hudson Taylor have been impressive for Maryland so far this season. Pinto is a perfect 5-0 after the first two weekends with two major decisions. Schlaffer is 5-1 with a two major decisions and two technical falls, and Taylor is also 5-1 with a team-best three falls and one major decision.

    The Terrapins will host their first home dual of the 2006-07 season next Saturday, November 25. Maryland hosts No. 18 Nebraska at 4:00 p.m. in the Comcast Pavilion.
