ORLANDO, Fla. - The Maryland Terrapins football team put the finishing touches today on what has been a productive bowl week in Orlando.
Before taking a break until tomorrow night's matchup against Purdue in the Champs Sports Bowl, the Terps conducted a walk-through this afternoon at Thunder Field, on the grounds of the Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium.
During the 45-minute walk-through, the team worked on final adjustments as the players donned t-shirts and shorts. After acknowledging the week that had passed, head coach Ralph Friedgen told the players that from this point forward, it was just like any other game.
Earlier in the day, the entire team, as well as Purdue, headed to Hard Rock Live for the Champs Sports Bowl's Kickoff Brunch, where the team enjoyed a steak-and-eggs meal while being treated to live music and entertainment. Among the performers, the team enjoyed musical performances by a Blues Brothers tribute band - with a special guest, senior cornerback Josh Wilson - as well as a light-hearted opening by the game's television crew of Brad Nessler, Bob Griese, Paul Maguire and Bonnie Bernstein.
The team has concluded its pregame workouts with just meetings remaining tomorrow morning.
Kickoff from Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium is set for 8:00 p.m. (EST). The game will be televised live nationally on ESPN and broadcast on the Terrapin Sports Radio Network (105.7 FM and 1300 AM Baltimore; 630 AM Washington, D.C.).
Tickets for the Champs Sports Bowl are available through the Terrapins Ticket Office at 1-800-IM-A-TERP or by visiting the Champs Sports Bowl page.
