COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The No. 1/1 Maryland women's basketball team returns to the Comcast Center floor when it hosts Siena on Monday night, December 4, with the tipoff scheduled for 7 p.m. The Terps, who are coming off a historic evening, look to extend their nation's longest win streak to 16 games.
Maryland's Marissa Coleman (Cheltenham, Md./St. John's College [D.C.]) registered the program's first-ever triple-double, tallying 15 points, 14 rebounds and a career-high 10 assists. She is the 11th player in ACC history to post a triple-double.
The Terps dominated UC Santa Barbara, 105-44, for the team's second 100-point performance of the season. They also limited the Gauchos to just 32.1 percent shooting. Maryland also outrebounded UCSB, 51-17, the fewest rebounds by an opponent in the Brenda Frese era and just three more than Coleman had grabbed on her own.
It is the third-straight year the Terps and the Saints battle on the hardwood and the second time Siena (1-6) is making a trip to Comcast Center. Last year, Maryland cruised to a 107-66 victory in Loudonville, N.Y., as six Terrapins reached double figures. Shay Doron (Ramat Hasharon, Israel/Christ the King [N.Y.]) led the team with 23 points, while then-freshmen Kristi Toliver (Harrisonburg, Va./Harrisonburg) and Coleman each chipped in 16 in their collegiate debuts.
