GREENSBORO, N.C. - Senior Jason Kiessling has been tabbed the Atlantic Coast Conference Co-Wrestler of the Week, announced today by the conference office. Kiessling earns the honor after going 2-0 in Maryland's last two duals against No. 18 Nebraska and VMI to improve his record on the season to 10-3.

Maryland is the only ACC school this season to garner two Wrestler of the Week honors. Junior Charlie Pinto was tabbed with the honor on November 20 after winning the 141-pound bracket at the Body Bar Systems Invitational.

Kiessling improved his dual mark to 6-2 with a win in each of the last two matches. He had an impressive 11-6 decision against No. 12 Marc Harwood of national powerhouse Nebraska on November 25. Kiessling notched the first win for the Terps against the Huskers at 165. Kiessling and Harwood were deadlocked, 3-3, at the end of the first period. Harwood managed an escape in the second after Kiessling rode him for 1:05 to make it 4-3 in his favor. Kiessling recorded a takedown that Harwood quickly escaped from, tying it again at 5-5. With 45 seconds left in the second, Kiessling took him down again to take a lead he would not relinquish.

Kiessling then went on to dominate John Burton of VMI, 23-7, this past Friday to win by technical fall. It was his first tech fall of the season and first since 2003. He has also recorded a pair of major decisions so far this season.

The Terps are back in action this weekend with three duals. On December 9, Maryland takes on Rider and Rutgers and then the Terps wrestle Princeton on December 10.
