MISSION, Kan. - Junior midfielder Stephen King was named to the 2006 NSCAA/adidas College Men Scholar All-East Region team. The Medford, N.J. native led the Terps with seven assists and also contributed six goals. He is majoring in finance.
King was also named to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-America third team on November 20.
King, a captain, led the Terps to a 16-5-1 record this season and a berth in the round of 16 in the NCAA Tournament. He was second on the team with 19 points. He has been a mainstay in the Maryland midfield since he stepped foot on campus in 2004, starting all 72 games he has played in since his arrival.
