COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The fourth-ranked Terrapin women's basketball team earned the third seed in the ACC Tournament which begins Thursday, March 2 at the Greensboro Coliseum. Maryland, who earned a first-round bye, plays the winner of the Miami-Georgia Tech game on Friday, March 3 at 9:30 p.m. The game will be televised on the ACC's Regional Sports Network (Comcast SportsNet, Fox Sports South, Fox Sports Florida, New England Sports Network) and can be listened to on the Terrapin Radio Sports Network.

Maryland defeated Northern Colorado in a non-conference bout, 89-53, on Sunday, winning its school-record 26th regular season game. Prior to taking on the Bears, the Terps closed out the ACC slate with a dominating 89-63 victory over Clemson, claiming their 12th conference win of the season, the most in 14 years.

Recording their best showing in the ACC standings in 13 years, the Terps are tied for second with Duke, but garner the third seed due to the tie-breaker rules. The Blue Devils swept Maryland in both regular season contests. North Carolina, whose only loss of the season is to the Terps, are the top seed and Florida State rounds out the top four seeds.

Maryland will be looking for its first ACC title since 1989. The Terps have won an unprecedented eight ACC titles in the history of the program.

Miami (16-11, 6-8 ACC) and Georgia Tech (13-14, 2-12 ACC) play on Thursday night at 9:30 p.m. The two teams squared off in the final regular season contest on Sunday and the Hurricanes claimed a 90-85 victory over the Yellow Jackets in double overtime.

The semifinals take place on Saturday, March 4 with the games slated for 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. The champion will be decided on Sunday, March 5 at 1 p.m. The semifinal and championship games will be nationally televised on Fox Sports Net and on Comcast SportsNet in the Baltimore/Washington, D.C. area.
