COLLEGE PARK, Md. - For the third-consecutive week, a Maryland freshman garnered ACC women's basketball weekly honors as Kristi Toliver was selected conference Co-Rookie of the Week, which was announced yesterday. Helping the Terps to a 2-0 week, Maryland clinched its first winning record in ACC play since 1997.

Starting both games last week, Toliver (Harrisonburg, Va./Harrisonburg) she averaged 12.5 points and 6.5 assists per game in a pair of Terrapin wins. Making her first start since Dec. 4, Toliver was 4-for-8 from the floor and scored nine points in the Terps' 88-77 win over Miami on Wednesday. She also collected two rebounds and a steal in the win. Against Virginia on Sunday, Toliver narrowly missed a double-double, scoring 16 points to go along with nine assists in Maryland's 85-71 victory. A guard, Toliver was 6-for-11 from the field (54.5 percent) and 2-for-4 from 3-point range as Maryland picked up its first season sweep of Virginia since the 1989 campaign. On the week, Toliver shot 52.6 percent from the field (10-for-19) and was 3-for-7 (42.9 percent) from behind the arc.

Classmate Marissa Coleman (Cheltenham, Md./St. John's College [D.C.]) was selected Rookie of the Week last week. The two have combined for six Rookie of the Week honors this season.

The sixth-ranked Terrapins are back in action at No. 1 North Carolina on Thursday, Feb. 9. Tip off is at 7 p.m. Maryland has won its last seven games in a row.
