Terps Place Four On Men's Soccer All-ACC Academic Team

Feb. 9, 2006

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Four Maryland Terrapin men's soccer players have been recognized by the Atlantic Coast Conference for their achievements in the classroom as Jason Garey, Chris Lancos, Stephen King and Maurice Edu were named to the All-ACC Academic Men's Soccer team.

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career.

The four Terrapin selections were second only to Duke and Virginia Tech's five.

Garey and Edu were also recognized as All-ACC honorees in November.

Garey and Lancos each graduated from Maryland in three-and-a-half years and have already begun their professional soccer careers. Midfielders King and Edu will return to Marlyand next season as juniors.
