The Maryland Gymnastics team scored its highest team total of the season (194.575), finishing second to NC State in a quad meet on Friday. NC State edged the Terps with a score of 194.625 for first place. New Hampshire placed third with a score of 193.75 and George Washington rounded out the scoring with a 193.25.
The Terps scored a season high 48.825 on vault as Angie Ferg and Rachel Martinez tied for third with a score of 9.825. Rachel Colon tallied a 9.8, tying for eighth-place overall. New Hampshire's Amanda Hall notched a 9.925 for first place and led her team to a victory on the event with a team total 49.0.
Martinez led Maryland to a season high 48.475 on uneven bars with a 9.775 and second-place finish. Mandy Pascual tied for sixth place with a 9.75 and Colon added a 9.725, tying for eighth place. Maryland tied New Hampshire for first place on the event and NC State's Elyse Adams won the individual title with a 9.8.
Ferg paced the Terps on balance beam with a career-best 9.8 and second-place finish. Colon and Martinez tied for fifth place with a score of 9.75. Kim Loew added a career-best 9.7, tying for tenth place. Maryland totaled a season high 48.45 on the event for second place. NC State's Leigha Hancock took first place with a score of 9.925 and the Wolfpack tallied a 48.775 for first place.
Martinez and Colon were outstanding for the Terps on floor exercise. Martinez tallied a 9.875 for second place and Colon notched a career-best 9.85 for third place. It marked the seventh-straight meet that Martinez has scored a 9.8 or better on the event. Loew continued her consistency on floor, adding a 9.8 and tying for eighth place. NC State's Leigha Hancock finished first with a 9.9 and NC State won the event with a 48.875.
Martinez and Colon finished 1-2 in the all-around competition. Martinez tallied a season-high 39.225 and Colon scored her second highest total of the season (39.125).
Maryland will return to action on March 25 at 6 p.m. to compete in the EAGL Conference Championships at Rutgers University.
