COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland Gymnastics team scored a 194.75, finishing fifth at the East Atlantic Gymnastics League Conference Championships on Saturday. North Carolina won the meet with a score of 195.325. NC State finished second with a 195.075, West Virginia took third with a 194.9 and New Hampshire placed fourth with a 194.45. The Terps defeated George Washington (193.775), Rutgers (191.425) and Pittsburgh (190.225).

Angie Ferg scored a career-best 9.875 on vault and tied for second-place overall. Rachel Colon and Rachel Martinez tied for eighth place with a score of 9.825. Maryland totaled 48.775, tying for third on the event. NC State's Leigha Hancock won with a score of 9.9, giving the Wolfpack the victory on the event (49.175).

Uneven Bars proved to be Maryland's toughest event of the meet. Mandy Pascual finished thirteenth with a score of 9.75 and Colon added a 9.725 for fourteenth place. The Terps scored a 48.125, finishing sixth on the event. NC State notched a team total 48.95 for the victory. North Carolina's Christine Robella tallied a 9.9 for first place.

Ferg led Maryland on balance beam with a 9.775 and seventh-place finish. Kim Loew scored a career-best 9.725, finishing ninth overall. Colon added a 9.7, tying for twelfth place. The Terps tied a season-high score of 48.475, finishing fourth on the event. New Hampshire's Mariana Pena Trestini led her team to the win (48.75) with a 9.925 and first-place finish.

Martinez paced the Terps on floor exercise with a 9.85, finishing tied for fourth place. Loew notched a 9.775, tying for twelfth place. Morgan Fishbein scored a career-best 9.75, finishing tied for seventeenth overall. Maryland finished fourth on the event with a team total 48.8. North Carolina's Courtney Bumpers led the Tar Heels to victory with a 9.95 and first-place finish.

Bumpers scored a 39.525 to win the all-around title. Colon finished eighth with a score of 38.95 and Martinez scored a 37.925 for eleventh place.

Several of the Terps will compete in the NCAA Regionals on Saturday, April 8.
