Maryland men's lacrosse signee Bryn Holes scored a pair of goals in the inaugural Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Classic, but his South team fell to the North squad, 17-14, on Sunday evening at Towson's Unitas Stadium.
Holmes scored the game's first goal at the 13:37 mark of the first quarter to give the South a 1-0 lead. The McDonogh graduate picked up his second goal of the game with 2:53 remaining in the fourth quarter. Holmes also won five face-offs for the South team and picked up three groundballs.
Brian Phipps, another Terp signee that will attend Maryland this fall, took over in goal for the South team in the second half and made a game-high nine saves. The 2006 Wynn Award winner faced 35 shots in the third and fourth quarters. The Severn graduate also picked up a pair of groundballs.
Maryland's third signee in the game, Brian Farrell was a stand-out on defense for the South. The Boys' Latin grad tied for second on the South team with four groundballs.
