College Park, Md. -
The University of Maryland's women's and men's soccer games against Towson and No. 10 UCLA, respectively, remain as scheduled for tomorrow evening, but a final decision regarding the status of the events will be made by 3:00 p.m. tomorrow.
The doubleheader, which is to be televised nationally on CSTV, is slated to begin at 5:00 p.m. with the Maryland women's team opening its home schedule against Towson. The nightcap would have the returning national champion Terrapin men's team taking on the 10th-ranked Bruins at 8:00 p.m.
Storms associated with tropical storm Ernesto are threatening the area and all appropriate actions are being taken to ensure that Ludwig Field is playable and safe for the student-athletes, coaches, staff and fans.
Prior to this season Ludwig Field underwent a $1.3 million renovation process that included improving the playing surface along with its drainage system.
