    COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The No. 6 men's soccer team heads to Winston-Salem, N.C. for an ACC showdown with the Deamon Deacons on Saturday night at Method Road. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m. Fans can watch the match live on ACC Select. A monthly subscription to the web site costs $5.99 while a per game purchase is $3.99.

    The Terps are coming off of a perfect 3-0 home stand in which they shutout their opponents, 7-0. The three wins came against Mount St. Mary's, NC State, and Penn State. Maryland dominated the home stand, owning a 61-16 shot advantage in the three games. The Terps also took 21 corners and allowed just six.

    The Terps have started 7-1-0 or better for just the third time since 1969. Maryland started that season 8-0-2. The Terps also started the 2002 and 2003 seasons off with a bang at 8-1-0 and 9-0-0, respectively.

    Scouting the Demon Deacons
    • Wake Forest enters the week with a 6-1-0 record, including a 1-1-0 conference record. The Deacons face Davidson on Wednesday night.
    • WFU is coming off of a 4-2 victory against No. 24 Virginia Tech on Saturday.
    • The Deacs defeated South Carolina and Old Dominion last year in the NCAA Tournament before losing a 3-2 double overtime heartbreaker to California.
    • Keeper Brian Edwards has recorded 22 shutouts in the last three seasons, including four this year. He is allowing 1.12 goals per game and has a save percentage of .692.
    • The Deacs return all but one player in the defense and midfield. Pat Phelan earned All-South region accolades last season. All-American Ryan Solle led the ACC with 13 assists last year.
    • This season, Steven Curfman is leading the squad with two goals and five assists. Wells Thompson and Lyle Adams have both scored three goals.
