#3/3 Terps Travel to Clemson
After two-straight victories, Maryland looks to continue its winning ways when it travels to Clemson on Thursday night. The Terps are looking for their sixth-straight against the Tigers, dating back to 2004.
Maryland remains in the top three in the national polls for the 12th week this season. The Terps have been ranked in the top five for 16 weeks in the Associated Press poll and 17 weeks in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll, dating back to last season.
The game can be heard on the University of Maryland's WMUC Radio. Live audio link will be provided at www.umterps.com.
Terps Draw Big Attendance
The reigning national champion Terrapins have drawn big crowds at home and on the road.
Maryland will reach 100,000 in home attendance for the first time in school history against North Carolina. The Terps have already outdrawn the number of fans from last season. Last year, 77,010 fans watched the Terps in Comcast Center in 16 games. In 12 home games this season, 98,008 fans have come to Comcast Center to watch the Terrapins play and four home games still remain, including two sell outs.
On the road, the Terps have played in front of two capacity crowds (at Loyola and at Duke) and have also played in front of near capacity crowds. The Terps' road games (not including neutral site games at the Junkanoo Jam) have been the opponents' biggest or second-highest crowd of the season.
Maryland currently leads the ACC in attendance, averaging 6,263 fans overall and over 8,100 fans at home games. The Terps also rank seventh in the nation in home attendance.
The Terps' game vs. Michigan State on Jan. 6 was attended by 12,295 fans, the largest attendance for a non-conference game in school history. It was also the fifth-largest attendance in ACC women's basketball history. It also ranked in the top 15 in the nation in single-game attendance in the nation, while the Terps' 10,526 against Virginia and 11,118 against Wake Forest are among the top 30 this season.
Maryland's sellout crowd against the Tar Heels will break the ACC record for largest attendance for a women's basketball game. It will also be the third-largest attendance this season in the nation (Duke at Tennessee, 21,118; Notre Dame at Tennessee, 19,092).
About Clemson
When the Tigers host the Terps they will be looking to break a three-game skid as Clemson goes into the game with a 9-10 record and 1-3 in ACC games. CU's only conference win to date is a 73-57 victory at Wake Forest to open the ACC slate.
D'Lesha Lloyd currently has the conference's longest double-digit scoring streak at 15 games. She leads the Tigers with 5.5 points per game, followed by Tasha Taylor's 12.5. Lloyd is also the team's leading rebounder at 7.2 rpg.
Cristy McKinney is in her second season at the Clemson helm. The Tigers were 8-21 last year and returns just one starter from last year's squad.
SERIES VS. CLEMSON: Maryland leads the all-time series, 33-24, and has won the last five meetings. The Terps ended a four-game losing streak to the Tigers, spanning the 2002 and 2003 seasons, with a a 68-55 win in Comcast Center on Jan. 29, 2004 for the first of five-straight wins to date.
Terps Sell Out Comcast For Duke & UNC Games
For only the second and third times in the history of the program, Maryland athletic department has announced a sell out of Terps' women's basketball games. Both of the Terps' contests vs. No. 2 North Carolina on Jan. 28 and vs. No. 3 Duke on Feb. 18 are SOLD OUT. The game against UNC will mark the first-ever women's basketball sell out in Comcast Center, which boasts a capacity crowd of 17,950, and will be the largest crowd to ever attend an ACC women's basketball game.
Maryland owns the top four attendance marks in ACC history, including the current record of 17,243 set on Feb. 13, 2005 when it hosted the Blue Devils. The Terps also drew more than 16,000 fans to last year's matchup against Duke, the second-largest women's basketball crowd in conference history.
The Terps have owned the top women's basketball attendance record for 14 years. It first set the all-time record in 1992 when a sellout crowd of 14,500 crammed Cole Field House to watch No. 1 Maryland take on No. 2 Virginia. That record stood until 2005.
Maryland announced a sell out of the game against the Blue Devils on Jan. 10 and announced a second sell out against UNC the following day.
Good For at Least 10
National Player of the Year candidate Crystal Langhorne has reached double-figure scoring in 20 of the Terps' 21 games this season. She had a streak of 44-straight double-figure scoring games dating back to last season until the Wake Forest win.
In 91 career games, Langhorne has scored in double figures in all but seven games.

Game After Game

Only Christy Winters (1987-90) has worn the Terp uniform in more games, holding the school record of 123 games played.
Getting It Done Early
The Terps have rarely allowed a suspenseful game, generally deciding the outcome in the first half. In their 20 wins, they have averaged a +29.9 scoring margin on the strength of a solid first halves where Maryland has a averaged a +21.1 point margin in the first 20 minutes of the game.
Maryland opponents have been within 10 points of the Terps at halftime only twice in its 20 wins (at Middle Tennessee State - 5; at Temple - 2) and have lost just once so far this season.
Maryland's 39-point halftime lead at Miami was the largest of the season. The Terps were ahead, 59-20, en route to a 111-53 win.
Coming Up
Another top three matchup also counts in the ACC standings this Sunday, Jan. 28. The Terps host No. 2 North Carolina in a rematch of last year's NCAA Final Four game which Maryland won to advance to the championship game. The game will also mark the first sellout of a women's basketball game at Comcast Center and the second women's basketball sellout in school history.
