Jan. 8, 2007

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland Terrapins football program will send six seniors to postseason all-star games over the next month, with three seeing action in this weekend's Cornerstone Bancard Hula Bowl.

DL Conrad Bolston, OT Stephon Heyer and LB David Holloway are all scheduled to play in Sunday's Hula Bowl in Honolulu (8:30 p.m. ET/ESPN), while P Adam Podlesh and CB Josh Wilson are slated to take part in the prestigious Under Armour Senior Bowl on Saturday, Jan. 27 in Mobile, Ala. (4 p.m. ET/NFL Network). The Senior Bowl annually features the top talent in the nation.

QB Sam Hollenbach will also have a chance to show his skills when he plays in the inaugural Inta Juice North-South All-Star Classic this Saturday in Houston (Noon ET/ESPN2) and the first-ever Texas vs. the Nation game on Friday, Feb. 2 in El Paso, Texas (9 p.m. ET/CSTV). The second game pits players from the state of Texas vs. those from the rest of the country.

Hollenbach completed 203 of 328 passes (62 percent) for 2,371 yards with 15 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 2006. He is the fourth Terrapin to pass for more than 5,000 yards in his career. Hollenbach finished his career hitting on 417 of 679 passes for 5,139 yards with 28 touchdowns (fourth on all-time Terps list).

A three-year starter, Bolston tallied 35 tackles, including 3.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks, this season. He was on the 2006 preseason watch list for the Outland Trophy. The Burtonsville, Md. native recorded 107 career tackles, including 16 TFLs and 10 sacks.

Heyer was an honorable mention All-Atlantic Coast Conference performer this season after sitting out 2005 with a knee injury. He started all 13 games at left tackle this season and was one of the top linemen in the league as a junior and senior.

Holloway is listed among the top linebackers in the country who will be available in the 2007 NFL Draft. He is currently No. 5 on Mel Kiper's list of top senior outside linebackers. Holloway ranked third on the Terps this year in total tackles with 70, including 4.5 TFLs. He posted 186 career tackles and started 33 of the team's 35 games over the last three seasons.

Podlesh is the only football player in school history to record All-ACC honors four times. He was a second-team choice this season and was a Ray Guy Award semifinalist as a freshman and sophomore. He averaged 42.9 yards per punt this season (No. 22 in the nation), landing 23 of 56 kicks inside the opponents' 20-yard-line. He is ranked No. 1 on Mel Kiper's list of senior punters.

Wilson was a second-team All-ACC selection this season and earned the Jack Tatum Award as the top senior student-athlete in the league. He tallied 55 tackles, including 44 solo stops, in 2006. Wilson also picked off one pass and had a team-high 12 pass break-ups. In addition, the Upper Marlboro, Md. native was one of the top returners in the nation, averaging 27.3 yards per kick return (No. 11 in the country) this season.

Last season, three Terps - CB Gerrick McPhearson (East-West Shrine Game), LB D'Qwell Jackson (Senior Bowl) and LB William Kershaw (Hula Bowl) - appeared in postseason all-star games.
