Maryland Falls to No. 13 Michigan 10-7

COLLEGE PARK, Md.- The University of Maryland women's water polo team fell 10-7 against the nationally-ranked Michigan Wolverines today at the Terrapin Invitational. The Terps got within one goal of the Wolverines with 4:15 left to play in the fourth quarter with a goal by sophomore Christen Vagts, but Michigan scored twice in the final minutes to take home the victory.
Freshman Shannon Simerly led Maryland scorers with two goals, and sophomores Rachel Jordan, Bryndis Klein, Elizabeth Hopkins, Blaise Stanicic, and Christen Vagts added the remaining five.
Maryland will face divison rival Bucknell at 9:15 tomorrow at the Eppley Recreation Center Natatorium. Bucknell fell to Marist and Hartwick earlier today.
