
Letts, Bradley Place At FILA Junior Nationals

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Freshmen Mike Letts and Andrew Bradley both competed in the FILA Junior National Championships last weekend and finished in the top seven to advance to the FILA World Team Trials in May in Colorado Springs. Letts finished second at 174 pounds while Bradley placed fourth at 154.25 pounds.
Letts, who won the ACC Championship at 174 pounds this season, lost to Kirk Smith in the finals by decision (1-4, 1-1, 6-0). He was the first true freshman to take part in the NCAA Championships for the Terps since Jason Shea did it in 1990. He finished the 2006-07 season with a record of 30-7.
Bradley reached the third place match at the junior nationals and lost to Sean Bilodeau by decision (5-1, 4-0). In his St. Mark's High School career, Bradley was a three-time Delaware state and conference champion.
The top six finishers in each weight class qualified for the FILA World Team Trials in late May in Colorado Springs. The winner from each weight class will then represent the United States at the FILA Junior World Championships in Beijing, China in August.
