
Rogers, Seitz and U-20 National Team Face Uruguay In Round of 16 Tonight

TORONTO, Canada - Former Maryland men's soccer stars Robbie Rogers and Chris Seitz and the rest of the United States U-20 National Team will take on Uruguay in the Round of 16 of the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup tonight in Toronto. The match will be played in front of a sold out National Soccer Stadium and will be televised live on ESPNU at 7:30 p.m.
Uruguay went 1-1-1 in its group and was the third-place team in Group B. They tied the European champions Spain, 2-2 in their opening match and then defeated Jordan, 1-0, before losing to Zambia, 2-0.
The Americans finished group play 2-0-1 with impressive wins against Poland and Brazil. After tying Korea Republic, 1-1, in the opener, the US bounced back to dominate Poland, 6-1. In their last match in Group D, Seitz came up with 14 saves as the Americans held on to beat Brazil, 2-1, on July 6.
The winner of tonight's match will advance to face the winner of the Austria-Gambia match which is also being played tonight in Edmonton. That quarterfinal match up will be played on July 14 in Toronto at 2:15 p.m.
