
Terps Preseason Football Camp Log: Final Day

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland Terrapins concluded their three-week long preseason camp with a two-hour workout session Saturday afternoon under hot and humid conditions.
With the season opener against Villanova only a week away, the Terps continued to install the game plan for the Wildcats.
After practice coach Ralph Friedgen praised the Maryland players for a good effort on their last day of camp, and congratulated them on a solid three weeks of work.
The Terps are scheduled to have Sunday off to rest up and heal, and will begin their normal game week preparations with a 4:00 p.m. practice Monday.
All practices are closed to the public, while credentialed members of the media may attend the first five periods (approximately 30 minutes) of each workout.
Crummey Added to Lombardi Watch List: Senior offensive guard Andrew Crummey was one of 60 players added to the Rotary Lombardi Award Watch List Friday. The 38th annual Rotary Lombardi Award, presented by Wachovia, honoring the top lineman in college football and benefiting the American Cancer Society, will be presented in Houston on Dec. 5. The new players have been added to the preliminary watch list announced in March based on various preseason honors. There are now 103 players on the watch list. Crummey was a consensus preseason first-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference choice and landed on ESPN.com's Preseason All-America team. The two-year starter at right guard was also a second-team preseason All-America selection by The Sporting News.
Terrapins Rising Comes to a Close: The 10th and final episode of Terrapins Rising, a reality television show chronicling Maryland's spring and preseason football practices, airs at 8 p.m. Monday on Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic. The mini-series, which has been presented by Under Armour, debuted regionally on Monday, June 25. The 30-minute show aired each Monday for the last nine weeks on the regional sports network. The series is also being shown on the FOX College Sports Network, Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia and Comcast Sports Southeast. In addition, Comcast SportsNet will run the full 10-episode marathon of Terrapins Rising from noon to 5 p.m. on Monday, September 3 (Labor Day).
Fridge on the Radio: The Ralph Friedgen Radio Show returns to the air Wednesday on the Terrapin Sports Radio Network. Friedgen and Voice of the Terrapins Johnny Holliday will be on the air taking phone calls from fans and previewing the season opener vs. Villanova. The show will air live from 8-9 p.m. at Outback Steakhouse in Aspen Hill. The Terrapin Sports Radio Network, includes WHFS 105.7 FM in Baltimore, WJFK 1300 AM in Baltimore and WJFK 106.7 FM in Washington, D.C. Breakfast with the Fridge: As he has done over the past few seasons, Friedgen will hold `Breakfast with the Fridge' beginning next week. The seventh-year head coach will visit with Terp fans on Friday, Aug. 31 and Friday, Oct. 19 at the Inn & Conference Center on the University of Maryland campus. The event begins at 7:00 a.m. with a free continental breakfast. Friedgen will address the crowd from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Next week he'll discuss the season opener vs. Villanova. He'll also be available to sign copies of his new book, 'My May' at 8:30 a.m. His second `Breakfast with the Fridge' event leads into the Homecoming game vs. Virginia.
Terp Games to be Rebroadcast on Comcast: University of Maryland football games will once again be rebroadcast on Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic. With the exception of three contests, each game will be shown the following Sunday, at 7:30 p.m. (following a replay of the Ralph Friedgen Television Show). The season opener vs. Villanova on Saturday, Sept. 1 (6 p.m.) will be shown at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4. The Wake Forest game on Saturday, Sept. 22 will be shown at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25, while the Clemson contest on Saturday, Oct. 27 will be rebroadcast at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct 30. The Terps' season opener is being shown live on ESPN 360 and can be heard on the Terrapin Sports Radio Network. Johnny Holliday (play-by-play), Jonathan Claiborne (color) and Tim Strachan (sidelines) have the radio call.
