COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland and West Virginia will play before a sold-out Chevy Chase Bank Field at Byrd Stadium next month, the athletics department announced Thursday.
The Terrapins and Mountaineers are scheduled to play on Thursday, Sept. 13 with kickoff set for 7:45 p.m. The game will be televised live nationally on ESPN and broadcast on the Terrapin Sports Radio Network which includes WHFS 105.7 FM in Baltimore, WJFK 1300 AM in Baltimore and WJFK 106.7 FM in Washington, D.C.
It marks the first Thursday night home game for the Terps since Virginia Tech visited College Park in 2005.
Despite the sellout, Terp fans still have a chance to see the game in person as a limited number of tickets are being held in reserve, but only for new season-ticket holders.
Season tickets are still available for as low as $162 and single-game tickets went on sale Monday. Fans may contact the Maryland Athletics Ticket Office at 1-800-IM-A-TERP or visit umterps.com for more information.
The Terps opened fall practice on Monday and kick off the regular season on Saturday, Sept. 1 when they play host to Villanova at 6 p.m.
