BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - After capturing the tournament title in the adidas/IU Credit Union Classic, four Maryland Terrapins were named to the All-Tournament Team. Senior Stephen King, juniors Graham Zusi and Michael Marchiano, and sophomore Omar Gonzalez were all honored. Zusi was also tabbed the tournament's Offensive MVP.
Zusi scored a goal in each of Maryland's two games which included a 1-1 tie against No. 7 Indiana and a 3-0 win against No. 10 Notre Dame. King recorded a goal and an assist in the win against the Irish to lead the Terps.
Gonzalez and Marchiano played key roles in Maryland's defense that allowed just one goal in two games. In the win against Notre Dame, the Terps' back line allowed just three shots, including none in the first half, while keeping Hermann Trophy winner Joseph Lapira in check.
Maryland claimed the adidas/IU Credit Union Classic title by going 1-0-1. Indiana had the same record, but defeated No. 1 UCLA, 1-0, compared to the Terps' three-goal victory against the Irish.
The Terps will make their home debut on Friday, September 7 when they take on No. 13 West Virginia at 8:00 p.m. at Ludwig Field. The match will be televised nationally by CSTV.
