Women's Hoops Fans Encouraged to Arrive Early for Monday's Game vs. Duke

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Fans who are planning to attend the Maryland women's basketball game on Monday, Jan. 14 vs. Duke are encouraged to arrive on campus early to avoid traffic challenges, according to campus officials. Over 11,000 tickets have been presold for the game.
The fourth-ranked Terrapins host the 12th-ranked Blue Devils on Monday night in ACC competition at Comcast Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. and fans are encouraged to arrive early and familiarize themselves with alternate routes to and from campus in order to avoid heavy delays.
Traffic on campus is expected to be heavier than normal due to the game's time proximity to rush hour and expected increased fan attendance.
Fans are invited to enjoy dinner at the Comcast Center concession stands, which will open at 5:30 p.m. and follow the directions below to best avoid congestion. Comcast Center doors will open at 5:30 p.m.
Parking will remain open and on a first-come, first-serve basis, except for Lot 4B. Parking attendants will direct cars to open spaces. Those with Lot 4B parking permits are recommended to enter campus through Route 193.
To avoid heavy traffic on Route 1, which severely delays fans entering or exiting campus, the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Department of Public Safety suggests using the following as much quicker and clearer routes from I-495/I-95:
LOT 4B PERMIT HOLDERS
• Take Kenilworth Ave. exit off 495/95 towards College Park/U of M.
• Turn right onto Rte. 193 WEST.
• Make a left onto Paint Branch Drive.
RECOMMENDED EXPRESS ROUTES TO TAKE ON GAMEDAY
Comcast Parking Express Route #1.
1. Baltimore/Washington Pkwy South or North to 193/Greenbelt Road
2. Take a left off the exit and follow signs onto 193 West/Greenbelt Road.
3. Follow 193 West/Greenbelt Road for approximately 4 miles.
4. Turn left onto Paint Branch Drive.
5. Officials will direct you to the next available parking spot.
OR....
Comcast Parking Express Route #2
1. Take I-95 South or North to the Capital Beltway East (I-495)
2. I-95 South will merge to the left, joining I-495
3. Take Exit 23/ Rt.201 "Kenilworth Avenue Bladensburg Greenbelt"
4. Proceed South on 201 in the direction of "Greenbelt Road and Bladensburg"
5. Take 193 West/Greenbelt Road exit
6. Follow 193 West/Greenbelt Road for approximately 4 miles
7. Turn left onto Paint Branch Drive
8. Officials will direct you to the next available parking spot
For fans entering the University through the Campus Main Gate
• Take Kenilworth Ave. exit off 495/95 toward College Park/U of M
• Turn right onto Paint Branch Pkwy
• Follow Paint Branch Drive Pkwy and proceed straight across Route 1 through the Main Gate onto Campus Drive
• Take the first right-hand turn after the main gate or make the right at the traffic circle towards Comcast Center
