Today's double-overtime contest was the second straight for the Terrapins. In its last game on Jan. 20, Maryland defeated Georgia Tech, 99-95, in double overtime. It is the first time in the history of the program Maryland had playd in back-to-back overtime games.
Maryland's Marissa Coleman (20 pts, 13 reb.), Laura Harper (12 pts, 10 reb) and Kristi Toliver (20 pts, 14 asst) recorded double-doubles. The last time Maryland had three players with double-doubles was in the win against Oklahoma on Nov. 11, 2007. The same trio had achieved the feat.
Kristi Toliver's 14 assists were a career high. Her previous high was 12 which she dished in the first round of the 2006 NCAA Tournament against Sacred Heart.
It was the second-consecutive meeting between the teams at Carmichael Auditorium that overtime was needed to determine the outcome. The teams went into overtime in 2006, a contest the Terrapins won.
Maryland's only two losses have come to teams ranked in the top 5 at the time of the meeting. The Terrapins lost to then-No. 5 Rutgers on Dec. 3, 2007.
Kristi Toliver needs just two assists to reach the 500-assist plateau.
Crystal Langhorne, who had eight rebounds, moved up to seventh all-time in ACC history in career rebounds. She has 1,110 for her career.
Crystal Langhorne has scored 20 or more points in the last three games, averaging 24.7 points over the last three games, and 13 rebounds per game.
Maryland had three players score at least 20 points for the second-straight game.
Maryland was outrebounded for only the second time this season.
The Terps lost their first overtime game since Jan. 16, 2005 at Florida State. Maryland is 10-2 in overtime games in six seasons under head coach Brenda Frese.
