Maryland is ranked fifth in the nation in the Associated Press and ESPN/USA Today Coaches polls.
The Terps boast the most wins in the country after playing 14 games in the first 31 days of the season. They were the first team in the nation to 10 wins.

Senior Ashleigh Newman is one game from tying the Terps' consecutive games played record. She has appeared in every game since arriving on campus as a freshman, 122 consecutive games.
The Terps have had at least one player with a double-double in 15 of their 18 games.
Three Terps overall were selected preseason candidates for the Wade Trophy and Wooden Award. Four were named to the preseason Naismith Award watch list.

Terps Welcome Clemson for ACC Home Opener
Maryland returns home for its first ACC contest at home, hosting Clemson on Sunday, Jan. 6 at 2 p.m. The Terrapins are coming off a win over Wake Forest to open the conference slate.
The nation's leader in wins with 17 and ranked fifth in the nation, the Terps are riding a seven-game win streak dating back to early December.

About the Terps
The first team in the nation to win 10 games, Maryland is 17-1 on the season, playing its first 14 games of the season in a 31-day stretch. The wins include four victories over ranked teams, two in the Preseason WNIT, which the Terps won.
Maryland has had at least one player with a double-double in 15 of its 18 games, posting 22 double-doubles overall. Junior Marissa Coleman leads the team with six double-doubles on the season, followed by senior Crystal Langhorne, who has five double-doubles, including the last three games.
Leading the way offensively for the Terrapins is junior Kristi Toliver, who is averaging a team-best 16.7 points and 7.8 assists per game. For the third-straight year, Maryland has had at least four players averaging double figures on the season.
After recording double-doubles in the last three games, Langhorne leads the team with 8.3 rpg and Coleman is close behind averaging 8.2 rpg. Four Terps, in all, are averaging at least 5.0 rpg.
The Terps' offense continues to be one of the best in the nation. Leading the country with a 45.3 three-point shooting percentage and second in the nation in field goal shooting, they rank in the top 10 in scoring offense (8th) and scoring margin (9th), as well. The Terrapins are averaging better than 80 ppg.
The nation's leader in rebounding margin the last two years, Maryland has outrebounded its opponents by +12.5 rpg, the seventh-best margin in the nation.
About the Tigers
Clemson is on a three-game losing skid and comes into Sunday's game with a 7-8 record. Sunday's game also marks the conference opener for the Tigers.
The Tigers are averaging just 61.0 points per game, which ranks second-to-last in the ACC, while allowing 65.7 ppg, which is the most in the conference. Clemson has had significant injuries impact the team, including ACL tears to three-year starter Tasha Taylor before the season began and back-up point guard Byrelle Smith.
No player on the Clemson squad is averaging more than 9.1 ppg. Senior D'Lesha Lloyd leads the team in the category. She is second on the team in rebounding (4.6), behind Lele Hardy's 6.4 rpg. The Tigers are one of the better free throw shooting teams in the conference, however, ranking third with a 70.3 percentage.
Tigers head coach Cristy McKinney is in her third season with the team, after spending 12 years at Rice University. She boasts a 270-214 record in her career, including 27-47 at Clemson.
SERIES HISTORY vs. CU: Maryland leads the all-time series 34-24. The Terrapins are also 6-3 under head coach Brenda Frese's tutelage, winning the last six in a row. The Tigers' last victory in College Park was a 70-59 decision almost five years ago to the day.
Terps Boast Top 3-Point Percentage
With the latest NCAA rankings released on Jan. 4, the Terrapins' boast the best three-point shooting percentage in the nation, shooting 45.3 percent from that long-range.
Maryland also ranks in the top 10 in the nation in five other categories. The Terps' 50.9 percent shooting from the field is second in the country. They're also seventh in rebounding margin, eighth in scoring and ninth in scoring margin. The team's 94.4 winning percentage is tied for fourth in the country.
In the indvidual rankings, junior Kristi Toliver ranks third nation in assists per game (7.8), while hr 2.08 assist-to-turnover ratio is 26th. Shooting 47.2 percent from three-point range, she ranks 11th in the category.
Iron Terp
While Maryland keeps track of all the records and milestones that are being broken and approached, there is one record that goes unnoticed. Senior Ashleigh Newman has played every game of her career, amounting to 122 games. Newman's endurance over the four years puts her second all-time at Maryland for consecutive games played.
Former Terrapin Christy Winters holds the school record for consecutive-games played with 123, playing every game of her career from 1987-90.
