Power In Pink
The Maryland-Duke match will feature the Terrapins wearing pink jerseys as part of Under Armour's Power In Pink campaign to raise money and awareness in the fight against breast cancer. Under Armour is proud to support our women's Collegiate teams by providing Power in Pink uniforms
According to the American Cancer Society: Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in the United States, other than skin cancer. It is the second leading cause of cancer death in women, after lung cancer. About 182,460 women in the United States will be found to have invasive breast cancer in 2008. About 40,480 women will die from the disease this year. Right now there are about two and a half million breast cancer survivors in the United States. The chance of a woman having invasive breast cancer some time during her life is about 1 in 8. The chance of dying from breast cancer is about 1 in 35. Breast cancer death rates are going down. This is probably the result of finding the cancer earlier and improved treatment.
Under Armour proudly supports breastcancer awareness and research. For each item purchased throughout the Power in Pink promotion, $2.00 will be donated to breast cancer charities.

Kaplan Honored By Soccer Buzz
Freshman Becky Kaplan was named to the Soccer Buzz Elite Team of the Week for her efforts last week against No. 9 Florida State and Miami.
Kaplan, a defender from Oyster Bay, N.Y., helped hold the Seminoles, who are averaging nearly three goals per game in 2008, scoreless in regulation in FSU's 1-0 win in overtime. She also played a key role in the Terps' 1-0 win over Miami on Oct. 5, helping limit the Hurricanes to just five shots and clearing a rebound from in front of the Maryland net in the final minutes of the second half to preserve the victory.
Kaplan has seen action in all 12 of Maryland's matches this season. She has started nine of those matches at three different positions - offensive center midfielder, defensive center midfielder and center back, where she's played the last seven matches.
Already A Career Year
For Maryland senior forward Kaila Sciascia, the 2008 season has already been a career year. The native of East Northport, N.Y., has already set season bests for goals (6) and points (13) and tied her season-high of one assist.
