MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -
The No. 6 Maryland men's soccer team will ride a four-game winning streak into Morgantown on Tuesday night for a battle against West Virginia at 8 p.m. at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium.
The game will be broadcast statewide in West Virginia on West Virginia Public Access Television. The broadcast crew will feature former Maryland men's soccer SID Adam Zundell and fans can log-in free for the action via the link above.
The Terps, who are 11-3-0, played a well-balanced match their last time out, defeating a solid Evansville squad, 4-0, on Friday night at Ludwig Field. Freshman Casey Townsend, who leads all freshmen in the nation in goals with ten, netted a pair while reigning ACC Co-Player of the Week Jeremy Hall scored twice as well. The Maryland defense held the Purple Aces to one shot thru 90 minutes of play. Freshman keeper Zac MacMath tallied his fourth shutout of the year and his seventh consecutive win between the pipes.
West Virginia, who advanced to the Sweet Sixteen last season, carries a 4-5-5 record into Tuesday's match. The Mountaineers are 2-0 against the Terps all-time, including a 1-0 win in overtime last season in front of over 5,000 fans in College Park. WVU has had its share of offensive woes this season, only registering eight goals in 14 games but boasts a stingy defense. Paul Paradise, Alex Silva and Adam Mills are tied for the team-lead in goals with two apiece.
