KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - Freshman Jessica Hollandsworth tied for 20th individually to help the University of Maryland post a ninth-place team finish Tuesday at the Palmetto Intercollegiate women's golf tournament hosted by the College of Charleston.

Hollandsworth, a freshman from Floyd, Va., closed with a final-round 76 on Tuesday to lead Terp scorers in Tuesday's round. Her 54-hole total of 232 was just four shots out of a top-10 finish.

She had the best finishes among Maryland players in each of the five events during the fall season, including an individual victory at the Spider Fall Invitational earlier this month.

Playing with three freshmen and a sophomore in the lineup, Maryland was ninth with a 941 total. The Terps shot 308 on the final day after opening with a 306 in Monday's first round.

Georgia State finished at 907 to earn the victory in the team standings, taking advantage of a 297 that was the best score of any team in any round of the event. East Tennessee State was second at 914, with Washington State in third at 922.

Also for Maryland, senior Lara Peffley was 33rd with a 235 total, while freshman Alexis Holmes tied for 37th at 237 after opening the tournament with a 1-under-par 71 on Monday. Hilary Lawson and Lauren Varnas each tied for 54th with 242 totals.

Princeton teammates Susannah Aboff and Marlowe Boukis tied for medalist honors, each shooting 224. They finished one stroke ahead of a group of four players.

The Palmetto Intercollegiate was the final event on Maryland's fall schedule.
