The only Maryland Terrapin to qualify for the NCAA Division I Golf Championships, freshman Jessica Hollandsworth fired a first-round 76, six-over par, on the first day of the NCAA East Regional Championship at the Mark Bostick Golf Course at the University of Florida.
Hollandsworth, who led the Terrapins at every event they played this spring and earned a fifth place finish at the Panther Intercollegiate, shot a 76 in the first round, sitting tied for 75th overall. She is eight strokes off the pace, set by Abby Bools and Ana Maria Puche of East Carolina.
Hollandsworth tees off at 11:40 a.m. tomorrow for round two.
