COLLEGE PARK, Md. - After an uncharacteristic upset at Clemson on Friday night, the No. 4 Maryland men's soccer team returns home for a non-conference match against Charlotte on Tuesday night at Ludwig Field. Game time is slated for 7 p.m.

The Terps, which maintained the lead on three different occasions in Friday night's 5-3 loss, surrendered a season-high five goals to Clemson, including four to Tiger forward Michael Brooks. It was the first essential breakdown for a defense that has been nothing short of spectacular this season, giving up only seven goals in nine games prior. Maryland midfielder Jeremy Hall scored twice for the Terps. Hall connected on Maryland's first penalty kick of the 2008 season. His goals sandwiched a fantastic score by freshman Casey Townsend. Townsend continues to lead Maryland in goals with six. Hall's goals were his third and fourth of the year. Junior midfielder Doug Rodkey notched a pair of assists in the loss as well.

Charlotte, which is ranked 20th in the latest Soccer America poll, enters Tuesday's meeting riding a six-game winning streak. The 49ers are 8-1-0 for the year with its only loss coming in overtime against Coastal Carolina. Charlotte is led by Chris Salvaggione, who has 21 points this season on eight goals and five assists. Maryland is the first ranked opponent the 49ers have faced this season. This is the first meeting between the two programs.

Tickets for Tuesday's contest are $8 for adults and $5 for youth and seniors. Students with a valid ID gain free admission to Ludwig Field.
