BLACKSBURG, Va. - The No. 10 Maryland men's soccer team will look to get back over .500 in ACC play when it heads to Virginia Tech for a Friday night contest at Thompson Field. Game time is 7 p.m.

Maryland picked up its eighth win of the year with a 2-1 overtime victory against No. 21 Charlotte on Tuesday night at Ludwig Field. Jeremy Hall and Casey Townsend continued to stay hot offensively for the Terps. Hall netted Maryland's first score midway thru the first half to tie the game while Townsend sent home the game-winner with six minutes elapsed in the first overtime period. Townsend, a freshman, paces the Terps in goals (7) and points (14). Hall has three goals in the last two games and is second of the squad with five.

Virginia Tech enters Friday night's ACC showdown with a 4-6-1 record and is winless in four tries in conference play. The Hokies won their last outing, holding off Radford, 1-0, on Tuesday night. The all-time series rests in favor of Maryland, 4-1-1. The Terps will be out for some revenge, however, after Virginia Tech knocked Maryland out of the ACC Tournament with a 3-0 win in the quarterfinals in the programs' last meeting.
