More than 100 participants competed in the 5th Annual University of Maryland Baseball Golf Classic September 12 at Hampshire Greens Golf Course in Silver Spring, Md.
The tournament, sponsored by University of Maryland Women's Health, had 29 teams of four compete, with prize packages being awarded to the top three finishers.
The top foursome consisted of Bobby St. Pierre, former Terp baseball standout Matt Swope, Jason Aud and Frank Valois. The group won various prizes, including a trophy for each player, Maryland Baseball Under Armour apparel, an Under Armour travel bag and a $60 gift certificate to the Hampshire Greens pro shop.
The second-place team was made up of Kent Holtgrewe, Terps freshman Logan Welch, Dave Kent and Brad Welch.
The third-place finishers included recent Maryland baseball standout Chad Durakis, a 2008 Maryland graduate, his father, Chuck Durakis, former Maryland women's golfer Kelly Calkin, also a 2008 graduate, and Bob Boykin.
Various auctions and contests took place at the tournament and Greg Blackwell won a random drawing for an Under Armour golf bag.
