CARY, N.C. - The Maryland men's soccer team will battle reigning ACC Tournament champion Boston College for the rights to advance to the ACC Championship game at 5:30 p.m. on Friday at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C.

The Terps, the No. 2 seed in the tournament, will face the third-seeded Eagles in the semifinals, with the winner heading to the championship game Sunday against either Virginia or Wake Forest.

Maryland, which advanced in the tournament for the first time since 2006, defeated North Carolina for the second time in five days Wednesday. Jeremy Hall scored the game-winner in the 14th minute off assists from senior Rich Costanzo and junior Doug Rodkey. Hall, who was named to the All-ACC First Team Tuesday, has scored ten goals in Maryland's last ten games and leads the Terps with 12 goals and 29 points in 2008. Freshman keeper Zac MacMath put on a show Wednesday, shutting out the Tar Heels and adding six saves en route to his 11th-straight win.

Boston College defeated Clemson, 1-0, in the quarterfinals Wednesday in double overtime. Mor Avi Hanan netted the lone score of the game to help the Eagles avoid the upset bid. Boston College boasts one of the finest keepers in the conference in Chris Brown. Alejandro Bedoya paces BC offensively with six goals and 16 points. The Terps own a slight edge in the all-time series, besting Boston College, 3-2-0, including a win, 1-0, earlier this season at Ludwig Field. In that contest, senior Graham Zusi scored the game-winner to give Maryland its first ACC win of the year. The Terps and the Eagles have met once prior in the ACC Tournament, with Maryland coming away victorious, 1-0, in double overtime in 2006.
