Complete Freshman-Sophomore Results
YPSILANTI, Mich. -
Junior Mike Letts, the 11th-ranked wrestler in the country in his weight class, started his season on a high note, earning Maryland wrestling a first-place finish in the 174-pound division Saturday at the Eastern Michigan Open.
Freshman Will Sharbaugh also earned a first-place finish in the freshman-sophomore 125-pound division, going a perfect 5-0 with three pins and a technical fall. Freshman Danny Bichner also placed for the Terps, finishing fourth in the freshman-sophomore 157-pound division.
No team scores were kept.
Junior Jon Kohler, the reigning Atlantic Coast Conference champion at 141 pounds, also competed in the tournament, going 1-2 for the day.
Other Maryland participants in the event included: Mike Hromada (2-2), Patrick Klenkel (2-2), Shawn Mazzarone (0-2) and Tommy Sitar (1-2).
