COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland baseball team plays host to the Delaware Blue Hens of the Colonial Athletic Association for a pair of midweek games Tuesday and Wednesday at Shipley Field.
Tuesday's game is at 7 p.m. and Wednesday's at 3 p.m.
The Terps come into the series at 5-7 and looking for a pair of wins to get back to .500 heading into this weekend's series at Wake Forest. Starting pitchers for both sides are unknown.
Maryland's offense is led by senior Chad Durakis (Cockeysville, Md./St. Pauls), who leads the team in seven offensive categories, including batting average, slugging percentage, hits, home runs and RBIs. Durakis is also only one double shy of moving into the school's top 10.
The Terps have belted 14 home runs this season, well on pace to top last season's total of 34.
The Blue Hens have lost eight straight games and come to College Park with a 3-9 record following a three-game sweep at the hands of Old Dominion last weekend. Delaware's pitching has been inconsistent with a team ERA over 8.00. Offensively, senior Adam Tsokonas leads the team with six home runs and 12 RBIs.
Like all midweek games at Shipley Field, admission to both contests is free.
WMUCSports.com will have a live broadcast of both games.
