COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland women's water polo team fell to Bucknell, 12-10, at home Sunday in its final game of the regular season.

The Terps (20-13, 3-3) fell behind the Bison (24-7, 5-1) early and were unable to catch up, as Bucknell held the lead nearly the entire game.

Maryland was led by Blaise Stanicic, Maggie Eicks and Rachel Jordan, who each notched two goals. Meagan Gins led the Bison with three goals.

Jordan hid a nifty over-the-shoulder shot with her back to the net to bring the Terps within two with just over five minutes remaining, but that was as close as the Terrapins would get.

After the game, Maryland coach Carl Salyer attempted to protest the game after a series of calls in the third quarter gave Bucknell a penalty shot and a five-goal lead. Salyer's request was denied, and the game stood as called.

Pending the outcome of Princeton's match against George Washington, the Terps will enter the CWPA South Division Tournament as the second or third seed and face Princeton in the first round. The Terrapins split the season series with the Tigers after a win, 12-9, Saturday morning. The tournament takes place at Bucknell next weekend, as the Terps to try for their second straight CWPA South Division Championship and hope to return to the CWPA Eastern Championship. Information regarding the CWPA South Tournament times will be updated as it is released.

In other action at the Natatorium, No. 11 Michigan (27-9) defeated Bucknell, 7-6, to close out the season for each. The Bison were unable to take advantage of Alison Carter's 11-block performance and lost after Sarah Roberts nailed a penalty shot for the Wolverines with two minutes remaining.
