COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland baseball will look to continue its school-record, 13-game non-conference winning streak this week with a pair of tough midweek games against Colonial Athletic Association foes Old Dominion and Towson.
The Terps (24-18) are coming off their most productive week of the season, defeating UMBC and UMES in midweek and then taking two of three games from No. 21 Georgia Tech over the weekend.
The Old Dominion Monarchs (18-19) come to Shipley Field at 7 p.m. Tuesday for the second matchup between the schools this season. The Terps won 5-2 at Old Dominion March 18. Brett Tidball (Bethesda, Md./Georgetown Prep) pitched 5 1/3 innings to earn the win in that game and Mike Murphy (Silver Spring, Md./Georgetown Prep) hit one of his team-high 10 home runs in that contest, as well.
Maryland will have revenge on its mind when it makes the short trip to in-state rival Towson on Wednesday.
The Tigers (21-19) defeated the Terps in College Park in their home opener February 26, 11-6.
Maryland has lost its last two games at Towson.
The Terps are led offensively by Nick Jowers (Beltsville, Md./DeMatha Catholic) and his .359 average. Last season's leading hitter, sophomore AJ Casario (Pine Hill, N.J./Overbrook) broke through last week, driving in 14 runs in five games and hitting .461 to raise his season total to .261.
Both games will be broadcast live on WMUCSports.com and the Old Dominion game will be broadcast on ACCSelect following the conclusion of the game on an on-demand basis.
